Community projects also involved students writing letters to local businesses in an attempt to raise awareness about plastic waste, and to persuade managers to introduce environmentally friendly products and materials. On 24th April, Mr Herve Corvest, Area General Manager at the Crowne Plaza in Qurum, very kindly offered a group of Year 8 and Year 9 students the opportunity to learn more about the hotel’s eco-friendly initiatives that had been planned for ‘Earth Week’. Students enjoyed a VIP tour, during which they were shown all the eco initiatives the hotel has implemented so far and involved in planting cocunut trees in hotel’s private beach. All were presented with certificates for their efforts.
