Dear Year 9 parents,

We would like to invite you to our Making The Right Choices information evening on Sunday 4^th March at 5.30pm. As you will be aware we will be asking your son/daughter to select the subjects they wish to study at IGCSE level this term. This is a major decision which will contribute to the next four years of their life and further studies, and as such we would like to offer you some guidance and advice in selecting the right subjects with your child.

Your child has already received a number of presentations by staff to give them an overview of the variety of courses we have on offer. This is to ensure students have all of the information necessary to make an informed decision about their education. You will find the IGCSE Subject Guide for you to download and read at home on our website, so you too are informed about the variety of IGCSE subjects offered at The Sultan’s School.

After the information evening there will be a full Parent Teacher Conference where you can discuss details with subject teachers, the Head of Faculty and Senior Managers.  This will end at 8pm.

Students will make their subject selection online via a Google Forms survey. The survey will be available to complete and submit from Monday 5^th March and will close on Wednesday 14^th March at 3pm. All surveys generate a date and time of submission, which will be used to place students on courses on a first come first served basis. Any student failing to complete the survey in the designated time frame runs the risk of not getting their first subject choices. You will find the link to the Year 10 IGCSE Options survey below:

You will find on the back of this letter the groupings of IGCSE subjects. Students must select one subject from each group to study.
