العام الدراسي 2021-2022معلومات هامة للعام الدراسي 2022/2023
أعزائي أولياء الأمور،
الآن وقد وصلنا إلى نهاية العام الدراسي ، أود أن ألفت انتباهكم إلى بعض المعلومات الهامة فيما يتعلق ببداية العام الدراسي القادم.
• بداية العام الدراسي. يرجى ملاحظة أنه كما اعتدنا في السنوات السابقة ، ستكون العودة إلى المدرسة تدريجية ، بدءًا من يوم الأحد الموافق 28 أغسطس. سيتم إرسال المعلومات المتعلقة بعودة طلاب المرحلة الثانوية والابتدائية إلى جميع أولياء الأمور من قبل الفاضل/ بول والفاضل/ دارين في الوقت المناسب. يرجى ملاحظة أن KG1 و KG2 سيبدءا يوم الاثنين الموافق 29 أغسطس.
• تحديث نظام التشغيل. خلال فترة الصيف سنقوم بتحديث العديد من أنظمتنا التشغيلية ، والتي ستشمل WCBS و Firefly. ستسمح هذه التحديثات بتواصل أفضل بين المدرسة وولي الامر وستكون لها ميزة تقليل المطبوعات.
للتأكد من أنه يمكنكم الوصول إلى جميع المعلومات ، يرجى التكرم بالتأكد من أن المدرسة لديها أحدث بيانات التواصل الخاصة بكم ، وخاصة عنوان البريد الإلكتروني. يرجى الاتصال بمكتب القبول والتسجيل إذا كنتم بحاجة إلى تحديث بياناتكم.
• الأنشطة الاضافية (ECA). بعد أن تم رفع جميع القيود المتعلقة بـ COVID ، نعتزم إعادة تقديم برنامج ECA الفترة القادمة. حالياً يخطط الفاضل/ لي للأنشطة وسيتم إرسال المزيد من المعلومات في الوقت المناسب.
• تغيير المناهج. كما ذكرنا في المراسلات السابقة ، سنقوم بتغيير برامج المدارس الابتدائية والمتوسطة من بداية العام الدراسي القادم. بدلاً من تقديم منهج وطني معدل للغة الإنجليزية ، سننتقل إلى برامج كامبريدج. نعتقد أن هذا التغيير سيكون مفيدًا للغاية لطلابنا لأنه سيسمح بالانتقال السلس من عام إلى آخر إلى أن يصل الطلاب لامتحانات Cambridge IGCSE في العامين 10 و 11.
بالإضافة إلى ما سبق ، يسعدني اعلامكم أنه اعتبارًا من شهر أغسطس ، سيتم تدريس مادة العلوم للسنوات 4 و 5 و 6 كموضوع متخصص. سيفيد هذا التغيير الطلاب بعدة محاور ، ربما يكون أهمها أنه سيتم تدريس العلوم من قبل معلم متخصص، وبالتالي توفير المزيد من الوقت لتدريس مناهج اللغة الإنجليزية والرياضيات. في المرحلة الثانوية ، سنقوم أيضًا بإجراء بعض الإضافات على المناهج الدراسية من خلال إدخال مادة علم النفس ضمن مواد البكالوريا الدولية وبسبب زيادة الطلب، سيتم توسعة قسم التكنولوجيا والتصميم (DT).
كما هو الحال دائمًا ، في نهاية العام الدراسي ، فإننا نودع العديد من زملائنا الذين إما يتقاعدون أو ينطلقون في مغامرات جديدة. أود أن أغتنم هذه الفرصة لأشكرهم جميعًا على مجهودهم وآمل أن يكون لديهم العديد من الذكريات الجميلة عن المدرسة وسلطنة عمان. سيتم إرسال تفاصيل الموظفين الجدد الذين سينضمون إلى المدرسة في بداية الفصل الدراسي المقبل.

Academic Year 2021-2022Important Information for SY22-23
Dear Parents,
Now that we have reached the end of the academic year, I just wanted to bring to your attention some important information with regards to the start of next school year.
- Start of the School Year. Please note that as in previous years we will have a phased return to school, starting on Sunday 28th Specific information with regards to the return of Secondary and Primary students will be sent to all parents by Mr. Paul and Mr. Darren in due course. Please note that KG1 and KG2 will start on Monday 29th August.
- Systems Update. Over the summer we will be updating several of our operational systems, that will include WCBS and Firefly. These updates will allow for better communication between school and home and will have the bonus of reducing our carbon footprint as we can reduce the need for printed materials.
To ensure that you can access all the appropriate information, we would kindly request that you ensure the school has your most up-to-date contact details, especially emails. Please contact the Admissions Office if you need to update your information.
- Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA). Now that all restrictions with regards to COVID have been lifted, it is our intention to reintroduce the ECA programme next term. Mr. Lee is already planning the activities and more information will be sent out in due course.
- Curriculum Changes. As indicated in previous correspondence, we will be changing the Primary and Middle School programmes from the beginning of next school year. Instead of offering a modified English National Curriculum, we will be moving to the Cambridge Programmes. We believe that this change will be extremely beneficial for our students as it will allow a smooth transition from one year to the next leading to the Cambridge IGCSE examinations in Years 10 and 11.
In addition to the above, I am delighted to report that from August, Science for Years 4, 5 and 6 will be taught as a specialist subject. This change will benefit the students in several ways, with perhaps the most important being that Science will be taught by a specialist, thus creating more teaching time for the English and Maths curricular. In secondary we are also making some additions to the curriculum with the introduction of IB psychology and due to popular demand, we will be expanding the Design Technology (DT) department.
As always, now that we have reached the end of the academic year, we are bidding farewell to several our colleagues who are either retiring or setting out for new adventures. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for their service and I hope they will take away many fond memories of the school and Oman. Details of the new staff who are joining the school will be sent out at the beginning of next term.
