As part of the “For Oman” project, our Year 11 students took part in an engaging session on the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence, delivered by Ms. Kawthar Al-Nizwani, a researcher from Sultan Qaboos University.
The session highlighted the importance of using AI thoughtfully, responsibly and ethically, while helping students deepen their understanding of its growing role in different aspects of our lives and its influence on shaping our future.
Students also explored how AI technologies can be used positively and safely, with an emphasis on the importance of critical thinking and checking information when using AI-powered tools and applications.
The session encouraged students to consider a range of opportunities and challenges associated with Artificial Intelligence, while recognising the importance of balancing its potential benefits with responsible and ethical use. Students were also encouraged to ask questions and share their ideas and perspectives on the future of AI.
The experience helped broaden students’ knowledge of emerging technologies and strengthened their awareness of the opportunities and responsibilities that come with them. It also encouraged students to approach AI with curiosity, critical thinking and a strong sense of responsibility as they prepare to contribute to an increasingly innovative and technology-driven future.
